Franki Le Voguer
Seem familiar? I wonder why?

Our Creative Director will be treading the boards again as the sex-savvy Vera. The last time Franki performed for us was on very short notice for The Sisters Grimm. Franki is a one woman powerhouse and is excited to take on a role which is very personal and important to her.
KATIE
Libbie Saunders
Libbie is a born and bred Leeds lass who love's spending her time in good vintage shops and grooving away at gigs. She studied Drama and Theatre Studies at Liverpool Hope University and has since worked on projects with The Royal Opera House and visited schools and care homes running drama workshops.

Gerard McLaughlin
WILL
Gerard McLaughlin
Gerard is originally from Northern Ireland and has become an “adopted scouser” following his studies in Drama at Liverpool Hope University where he graduated with a First Class degree. During his time at Hope, Gerard attained strong connections with external theatre company Grin Theatre, where he was involved in a selection of shows in an array of performance venues including The Unity Theatre and the old Lantern Theatre. Post studies, Gerard has jumped head first into the wonderful and forward thinking projects of Bespectacled Theatre Company. Gerard’s relationship with Bespectacled has continued to grow with his most recent role in the company’s spooky, historical show “Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell”, and he feels he fully embraces the company’s philosophy and mantra of seeing things differently.
MULTIPLE ROLES
Jake Szuplewski
"He’s an actor and director, so he probably thinks he’s better than he is. He hopes that’s not the case and that he’s just as good as what he thinks. An unattainable goal at least some may consider, but certainly the most charming thing about Jake is that he always strives to be better than anyone else at making cheese on toast; that ambitious nature has led to Jake to be the best he can be – you be the judge of that when you come to see The Plumbing! Over the years Jake has performed with many different theatre companies and in many different performances and is really looking forward to getting involved with Bespectacled Theatre for the first time! Jake has been a member of and tutor at Off the Ground Youth Theatre for over 9 years, worked with Hope Street Ltd on their Emerging Artist’s Programme in 2016.

Meet the optimist and the pessimist who keep Bespectacled going
Matt – Technical Director

Matt is our Technical Director and is quite strange. He wanted to be an actor for a while but found he was uncomfortable being too visible. Still wanting to be the centre of attention he became a technician & production manager so he could hide away and still be important. In a 75:25 ratio he makes things work or throws spanners in the gears but is improving.
He likes tangents -oh look there’s a sparrow - and loves technology but refuses to engage with it.

“I am to ideas what a monkey is to faeces.” – first business meeting.

Franki – Creative Director

And then there’s Franki. Franki likes bad jokes and good cheese. She is mostly made up of sleep deprivation, Haribo and lightbulb moments - like a Powerpuff girl but messier. Although primarily an actor and writer, she has also devised and directed numerous short plays. She has always been rather indecisive and can’t quite seem to settle on one thing and probably never will.
She is the baby in the metaphorical kitchen that got her hands on the creative cake – she makes a bit (lot) of a mess but it’s almost kind of cute.
