The Plumbing

The Casa Theatre

14th, 15th, 16th of June 2018

Vera knows too much about sex. Will doesn’t know enough. Two lifelong friends share their weird, wonderful and downright ridiculous sexual experiences over a cuppa or two. This raucous comedy ultimately asks us – how much do we really learn growing up?

Written by Creative Director Franki as her first full length play, The Plumbing is raw, funny and just a little kinky. Two friends meet up after years and share their hilarious, at times tragic, sexual histories. Exploring themes of sex, consent and relationships, awkward teenage fumbling, developing sexual identities and awkward adult fumbling against the backdrop of our failing sex education system - The Plumbing pulls no punches.

Previously described as "The voice of a generation, screaming to be heard". The Plumbing has been revised and refined but has lost none of its relevance. Since its first performance in 2015 there have been several high profile sex scandals, the rise of the #MeToo movement and a series of cuts on services for survivors of abuse.
