On The Verge Festival 2017

Liverpool Unearthed:
The Bridewell
We had a fantastic time working with Hope Street Limited as part of their On The Verge Festival in October 2017! We worked with some amazing people, doing amazing things in unusual spaces and we loved every moment of it.
As our offering we produced Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell to sell out crowds. The first in a series of offerings we plan to bring to the people of Liverpool highlighting the hidden landmarks we take for granted in a spooky way.

Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell was a fantastic new piece responding to the unusual and exciting history of The Bridewell Galleries on Prescot Street. A Victorian police station full of spooky corners, cobwebs, flaking paint and a lovely community of artists.

Everyone joined us for an immersive horror experience which kept the hairs on the back of your neck stood up and your pulse racing as we explored the dark corridors and claustrophobic cells and got to know the inhabitants who won't leave it alone.

This project was presented as part of Hope Street Ltd's On The Verge festival between the 19th to the 22nd of October. On The Verge is a festival about showcasing new theatre in unusual spaces by up and coming companies. More information about Hope Street and the festival can be found at www.hope-street.org.

Other shows included a double bill exploring language and gender in a bar and an exploration of sexuality during a tea party under a skirt. A political brainwashing on a bus, a look at one woman's life through karaoke and a rebellious dance piece in public spaces. There is also the unravelling of one woman's life in a shop window for all to see and an honest look at one woman's experiences at Hillsborough.

To finish the festival we joined Spanish company La Partida's The Match and joined dancers and footballers as they vied for superiority on the football pitch.

This was an exciting project for us and we were so happy to share it with so many of you! We hope to see you at our next spooky offering later in the year.
